The Guinness World Book of Records has over 400 records relating to golf. Instead of reading through all 418 entries, you will find a few of the craziest and interesting golf world records below.

  1. Largest Collection of Golf Clubs

If you travel to Malaga, Spain you will find the largest collection of golf clubs in the world. Robert Lantsought has been collecting golf clubs for over 25 years. Robert’s collection showcases 4,393 golf clubs. All of these golf clubs are on display at his restaurant on the Costa del Sol. He first began collecting clubs in 1992 and continues to add to his collection every week.

  1. Most Balls Hit Simultaneously

On September 27, 2009, 1,873 golf balls were hit simultaneously. This feat was completed at the Real Federacion Español de Golf Course in Madrid, Spain. The record was set as a part of Madrid’s bid for the 2016 Olympics, where golf would be returning after 112 years.

  1. Most Holes in a 24-Hour Period

Over the course of 24 hours, Robb James made 851 holes. At the Victoria Golf Course in Edmonton, Canada, Robb played the equivalent of 47 rounds. To this day golf enthusiasts are still astonished at how James was able to accomplish this task in so little time.

  1. Fastest Golf Cart

Would you believe that the fastest golf cart could potentially be driven on a highway? On Halloween of 2014, the golf cart “Bandit” by Plum Quick Motors achieved a speed of 118.76 mph. The cart was driven at Darlington Dragway in Hartsville, SC by Robby Steen. For Plum Quick Motors, this was the second time their cart was named the “fastest”.

  1. Most 18-Hole Courses Played in a Year

From April 2008 to March 2009, husband and wife duo, Cathie and Jonathan Weaver played 449 courses in a year. The two traveled all over the United States and Canada. Typically, the married couple would visit an average of 8.6 different golf courses a week.

  1. Longest Golf Club

The longest golf club was created by Michael Furrh, which measured 20 feet and 6 inches long. Furrh set the record on November 3rd, 2014 at Rolling Hills Country Club. His swing using his 20-foot club launched the golf ball 63 yards!

  1. Most Rounds in Different Countries in One Day

From June 24th to June 25th, 2013, Belgians Kasper De Wulf and Alexander Hautekiet played a round of golf in 8 different countries. The two golfers first began at the Tarvisio Golf & Country Club in Italy. Soon after they played rounds in Slovenia, Austria, Germany, France, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. Their final round was played at the Damme Golf & Country Club in Belgium.
